Rheumatism:
Asparagus is a valuable medicinal food [dietary component] in rheumatism on account
of its potash contents. However, it should be steamed and hot boiled. Approximately 80% of
the valuable salts are lost due to boiling. An infusion prepared from this vegetable is
considered highly beneficial in treatment of Rheumatism and chronic Gout. It should be
given in doses of 30 to 60 ml. It should,however be avoided in advanced stages of kidney
diseases. |
